West Zone concessionaire Maynilad Water Services, Inc. (Maynilad) won two Merit Awards at the recently held 49th Anvil Awards at the Solaire Resort and Casino.
The company was given noteworthy distinction for its Public Relations Programs done on a sustained basis. These are the Plant for Life Program (Environment), a multi-site reforestation program that engaged multiple stakeholders; and the Daloy Dunong Program (Education/Literacy) which aims to help influence the behavior of stakeholders, especially students, regarding health and sanitation.
The Anvil Awards is handed out by the Public Relations Society of the Philippines (PRSP). It is the symbol of excellence in public relations in the Philippines, awarded by a distinguished multi-sectoral jury to outstanding public relations programs and tools designed and implemented in the past year.
Maynilad is the largest private water concessionaire in the Philippines in terms of customer base. It is the concessionaire of the MWSS for the West Zone of the Greater Manila Area, which is composed of the cities of Manila (all but portions of San Andres & Sta. Ana), Quezon City (west of San Juan River, West Avenue, EDSA, Congressional, Mindanao Avenue, the northern part starting from the Districts of the Holy Spirit & Batasan Hills), Makati (west of South Super Highway), Caloocan, Pasay, Parañaque, Las Piñas, Muntinlupa, Valenzuela, Navotas and Malabon all in Metro Manila; the cities of Cavite, Bacoor and Imus, and the towns of Kawit, Noveleta and Rosario, all in Cavite Province.
