West Zone concessionaire Maynilad Water Services, Inc. (Maynilad) provided hydration support for COVID-19 frontliners—the health workers and on-ground checkpoint personnel—on duty to provide vital services during the Enhanced Community Quarantine. Maynilad initially turned over 15,000 pieces of bottled water to the Philippine Navy, Philippine National Police, Metro Manila Development Authority, National Capital Region Police Office, Research Institute for Tropical Medicine, Philippine General Hospital, several local government units, and to various checkpoints in the metropolis.
The company is continuing to mobilize other efforts to offer assistance, even as it supports its own frontline personnel who man all company facilities and conduct network maintenance activities to ensure sustained water service for its 9.7 million customers. “Aside from ensuring that our customers have reliable water supply, we sent hydration support to on-ground personnel to show our gratitude for their service to the country at this very difficult time,” Maynilad President and CEO Ramoncito S. Fernandez said.
