Metro Pacific and DMCI-led Maynilad Water Services, Inc. (Maynilad) recently completed the replacement of almost 12 kilometers of old, leaking pipes in South Fairview, Quezon City. The P45 million-project will benefit more than 7,000 people, and help prevent water contamination in the area. Replacing the leaky pipes will also allow Maynilad to recover around 500,000 liters of water per day, which is enough to supply the daily requirement of almost 1,428 accounts.
“When we took over Maynilad in 2007, the pipe network we inherited included the oldest water system in Asia. We are committed to rehabilitating and upgrading our network for the benefit of our customers,” said Maynilad president and CEO Ricky P. Vargas.
Since 2010, the company has consistently received 100% satisfactory compliance rating from the Metro Manila Drinking Water Quality Monitoring Committee (MMDWQMC). The MMDWQMC conducts monthly water sampling in over 800 points in Maynilad’s concession area. The samples undergo strict bacteriological, physical and chemical examination to ensure that the water is safe for drinking and cooking.

Ana), Quezon City (west of San Juan River, West Avenue, EDSA, Congressional, Mindanao Avenue, the northern part starting from the Districts of the Holy Spirit & Batasan Hills), Makati (west of South Super Highway), Caloocan, Pasay, Parañaque, Las Piñas, Muntinlupa, Valenzuela, Navotas and Malabon all in Metro Manila; the cities of Bacoor, Cavite, and Imus, and the towns of Kawit, Noveleta and Rosario, all in Cavite Province.
