West Zone concessionaire Maynilad Water Services, Inc. (Maynilad) was recently granted a Safety Seal by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) for its strict health, safety, and environment standards and practices, especially in the course of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Maynilad’s Head Office in Balara, Quezon City, was given the safety seal after undergoing DOLE’s intensive audit and inspection that covered its general labor standards, occupational safety and health standards, and compliance with health and safety measures to prevent and control COVID-19 transmission.
The company also recorded a total of 6.94 million Man Hour No Loss Time Accident (MHNLTA) in all of its facilities and offices by the end of 2021 while successfully and safely implementing its capital expenditure projects.
“Ensuring a safe workplace for our employees and service providers is important to us. This safety seal from DOLE is a testament to our uncompromising efforts of promoting a culture of safety in Maynilad,” said Maynilad President and CEO Ramoncito S. Fernandez.
Maynilad is the largest private water concessionaire in the Philippines in terms of customer base. It is the concessionaire of the Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System (MWSS) for the West Zone of the Greater Manila Area, which is composed of the cities of Manila (certain portions), Quezon City (certain portions), Makati (west of South Super Highway), Caloocan, Pasay, Parañaque, Las Piñas, Muntinlupa, Valenzuela, Navotas and Malabon all in Metro Manila; the cities of Cavite, Bacoor and Imus, and the towns of Kawit, Noveleta and Rosario, all in Cavite Province.
