West Zone concessionaire Maynilad Water Services, Inc. (Maynilad) was once again proclaimed by the Manila City government as one of the City’s top business taxpayers for the fiscal year of 2015.
Maynilad was among the 10 companies honored during the “Outstanding Manilans & Top Taxpayers Awards 2016” recognition ceremony held to coincide with the celebration of Manila’s 445th anniversary.
Maynilad has earned the distinction for three consecutive years now, highlighting the company’s corporate responsibility as a water provider and partner of the government in economic and community development.
Other companies that made it to the list were the Manila Electric Co. (Meralco), International Container Terminal Services, Inc., SM Prime Holdings, Inc., Unilever Philippines, Inc., Mercury Drug Corp., Asian Terminals, Inc., Philippine Star Daily, Inc., Puregold Price Club, Inc. and National Book Store.
“We strive to do our part in supporting government initiatives, and paying our taxes is part of it. We thank Manila mayor Joseph Estrada for recognizing our contribution to the city’s sustained progress,” said Maynilad President and CEO Ramoncito S. Fernandez.
Maynilad provides water and wastewater services to over nine million customers in the West Zone of the Greater Manila Area. The company has three Business Area offices that are located in Arroceros, Manila.
