West Zone concessionaire Maynilad Water Services Inc. (Maynilad), through its Maynilad Water Academy, recently held a two-day water solutions conference and exhibition for water industry professionals.
About 250 participants from local water districts and private water companies from all over the Philippines attended the event, which served as a venue for water industry practitioners in the country to benchmark on best practices in water supply operations.
The conference, themed “Making Every Drop Count: Improving Water Supply Efficiency through Collaboration and Creativity”, featured the latest research and innovations in water treatment, pressure management, leak management, meter management, and other areas of specialization from industry experts.
Highlights of the conference included a keynote speech by Philippine Business for Social Progress (PBSP) Executive Director Rafael Lopa, and a leadership talk by bestselling author and inspirational speaker Ardy Roberto.
“The Maynilad Water Academy’s vision is to be a world-class center of excellence in water and sanitation learning, training and education. Through events such as this conference, we aim to develop competencies in water and sanitation, advocate nation building, and create an environment for learning and benchmarking practices in the Philippines and in Asia,” Maynilad Water Academy head Rodora Gamboa said.
With the success of this year’s conference, the organizers aim to expand the event to include international participants in succeeding years.
