West Zone concessionaire Maynilad Water Services, Inc. (Maynilad) cleaned more than 40,000 septic tanks from around 44,000 accounts during the first half of 2016, allowing it to collect and treat more than 86,000 cubic mewters of septage.
The company’s effort to promote the benefits of septic tank cleaning resulted to an 81% increase in the number of customers who availed of the service compared to the same period last year. Customers often refuse to avail because of inability to locate their septic tanks and perceived inconvenience, even if the service comes at no extra cost.
“We appeal to our customers to avail of Maynilad’s septic tank cleaning services. Doing so will prevent the clogging of their residential plumbing systems and minimize the discharge of pollutants into the environment,” Maynilad President and CEO Ramoncito S. Fernandez said.
