Maynilad cleans 312,000 septic tanks; offers desludging service to customers

West Zone concessionaire Maynilad Water Services, Inc. (Maynilad) offered septic tank cleaning services to almost 700,000 accounts since its re-privatization in 2007 but only 312,000 or 46% availed of the service.  Among the common reasons for non-availment were inaccessibility of the septic tanks, perceived inconvenience and inability to locate the septic tanks.

Maynilad is appealing to its customers to avail of its septic tank cleaning services to prevent the clogging of their residential plumbing systems and to minimize the discharge of pollutants into the environment.

As of June 2013, Maynilad has collected and treated more than 436,000 cu.m. of septage which is being treated by its Dagat-dagatan Septage Treatment Plant (DDSpTP).
Maynilad’s DDSpTP is the first facility of its kind in the Asia Pacific Region to receive triple ISO certifications for quality, environment, and safety and health management. This proves that the facility’s operations and processes meet stringent international standards.

This September, Maynilad is offering septic tank cleaning services to its customers in select parts of Caloocan, Quezon City, Sampaloc and Las Piñas.

Maynilad customers in Barangays 174, 175 and 160 in Sta. Quiteria, Caloocan; Brgy. Nagkakaisang Nayon in Quezon City; and Brgys. 421-422 and 425-428 in Zone 43, Brgys. 555-568 in Zone 55, Brgys. 569-580 in Zone 56 and Brgys. 581-586 all in the 4th District of Sampaloc, Manila and in the South, customers in Brgy. Talon 2 in Las Piñas City may also avail of this cleaning service, which normally costs around P2,500 per truck.

Maynilad customers interested in availing of the company’s septic tank cleaning service may call the Maynilad Hotline 1626 to inquire regarding the requirements and procedures.
Maynilad is a concessionaire of the Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System (MWSS) for the West Zone of the Greater Manila Area, which is composed of the cities of Manila (all but portions of San Andres & Sta. Ana), Quezon City (west of San Juan River, West Avenue, EDSA, Congressional, Mindanao Avenue, the northern part starting from the Districts of the Holy Spirit & Batasan Hills), Makati (west of South Super Highway), Caloocan, Pasay, Parañaque, Las Piñas, Muntinlupa, Valenzuela, Navotas and Malabon all in Metro Manila; Cavite City, the cities of Bacoor and Imus and the towns of  Kawit, Noveleta and Rosario, all in Cavite Province.
