West Zone concessionaire Maynilad Water Services, Inc. is supporting 25 public schools under this year’s Brigada Eskwela program through the donation of refrigerated drinking fountains, cleaning materials, learning supplies, and improvements to school water and sanitation facilities.
A total of 17 refrigerated drinking fountains were turned over to public schools under the Las Piñas and Muntinlupa Schools Division Offices to help improve students’ access to safe drinking water. Maynilad also donated cleaning materials, including products sourced from Maynilad-supported social enterprise communities, to assist schools in preparing for the opening of classes.
The company also distributed school bags and learning supplies to 60 students from the Sining Ipo community in the Ipo Watershed in Norzagaray, Bulacan. Maynilad likewise donated educational toys and materials to approximately 90 Special Education students from Noveleta Elementary School in Cavite.
“Access to safe drinking water and proper hygiene facilities is important in creating a healthier and more conducive learning environment for students. Through Brigada Eskwela, we are able to support public schools in ways that are closely aligned with Maynilad’s core advocacy on water, sanitation, and environmental stewardship,” said Maynilad Head of Corporate Affairs and Communication Marie Antonette H. De Ocampo.
As part of its continuing support for schools, Maynilad will also refurbish drink-wash stations in 12 public schools across its service area. The project will improve access to drinking water and handwashing facilities in schools located in Caloocan, Valenzuela, Quezon City, Bacoor, and in Imus and Kawit in Cavite, in coordination with their respective Schools Division Offices.
Beyond Brigada Eskwela, Maynilad continues to promote water conservation and environmental stewardship among students through its Daloy Dunong educational program.
