MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepares, transfers and applies chemicals like aluminum chlorohydrate, liquid chlorine, polymer, caustic soda, sodium hypochlorite, potassium permanganate, ferric chloride and other necessary chemicals for plant operations.
- Monitors treatment chemical consumption to ensure chemical feed rates correspond to the recommended dosage.
- Inspects, receives and records treatment chemical deliveries during the shift and update stock balance.
- Facilitate, Inspects and records sludge hauling activities during the shift.Maintains and repairs minor defect of equipment/instruments and reports major defects for immediate repair.
- Maintains cleanliness and orderliness of workstation, dosing equipment, appurtenances, and working tools used in plant operations and maintenance. Applies 5S in all activities.
- Monitors / operates chemical feeding equipment, accessories and facilities based on the set working limits and the optimum dosing of chemicals per hour in compliance with the quality plan control parameters.
- Monitors the effect of chemical applied through visual inspection in the different stages of the process and through chemical consumption which is manifested in the actual monitoring on hand per shift.
- Declogs plant inlet screen as needed and to perform scheduled sludge extraction or when the need arises especially during very high turbidity.
- Monitors and records performance and status of vacuum pumps, air compressors, scour air blowers, backwash pumps, service water pumps and flash mixers and record equipment control readings at motor control centers (MCCs) and determine if they are within working limits otherwise, report to the Shift Officer immediately any defects for immediate action.
- Visually inspects status of intake, forebay, DAF and BAF cells and sludge thickening system, and reports immediately to Shift Supervisor on duty for any abnormalities.
- Removes large debris / floatable trapped in the sludge thickening system as needed.
- Operates neutralization system and sends samples to Process Control Services.
- Assists in the opening and closing of sticky valves at UF-RO and BAF areas.
- Measures and monitors sludge level at intake, forebay and DAF.
- Implements Integrated Management System’s programs, activities, procedures and policies
QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND PROFESSIONAL LICENSES
- Graduate of any technical/vocational course or at least two years in college
WORK EXPERIENCE
- Preferably with one (1) to three (3) years of related work experience
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES
- Basic reading, writing, and analytical required
- Can perform various mathematical functions
- Has the ability to perform assigned task with ease
- Computer literate
