West Zone concessionaire Maynilad Water Services, Inc. (Maynilad) is nearing completion of several major water and wastewater infrastructure upgrades across its concession area, reinforcing system reliability, operational resilience, and environmental protection in Metro Manila and Cavite.
Among the projects in their final stages is the upgrade of the 205-million-liter-per-day CAMANA Water Reclamation Facility in Dagat-Dagatan, which serves Caloocan, Malabon, and Navotas. As Maynilad’s largest wastewater treatment facility, the upgraded plant expands treatment capacity in densely populated areas and supports improved wastewater management and Manila Bay rehabilitation efforts.
Maynilad is likewise completing major upgrades at La Mesa Treatment Plant 2 (LMTP2), a key component of the company’s water supply system. The LMTP2 upgrade modernizes existing facilities to enhance operational reliability and strengthen the system’s ability to deliver stable water supply across the West Zone.
Complementing these facility upgrades is the ongoing completion of segments of the primary distribution pipeline along Daang Hari in Las Piñas City, which forms part of the distribution system of the Poblacion Water Treatment Plant in Muntinlupa. Once integrated into the network, the completed pipeline segments will support improved water distribution and pressure management in southern portions of the concession.
“These projects reflect our focus on disciplined execution and system readiness,” said Maynilad President and CEO Ramoncito S. Fernandez. “By upgrading critical facilities and strengthening our primary distribution network, we are reinforcing the reliability and resilience of our water and wastewater systems.”
The projects form part of Maynilad’s approved multi-year capital investment program, which supports water security, wastewater services, and non-revenue water reduction across its service area.
Maynilad is the largest private water concessionaire in the Philippines in terms of customer base. It is a concessionaire of the Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System (MWSS) for the West Zone of the Greater Manila Area, which is composed of the cities of Manila (certain portions), Quezon City (certain portions), Makati (west of South Super Highway), Caloocan, Pasay, Parañaque, Las Piñas, Muntinlupa, Valenzuela, Navotas and Malabon, all in Metro Manila; the cities of Cavite, Bacoor and Imus, and the municipalities of Kawit, Noveleta and Rosario, all in Cavite Province.
