ROLE OVERVIEW

The paralegal is primarily responsible for providing research and logistical support to the Legal and Regulatory Affairs Division. The role is valuable in the communication and coordination of external legal complaints to internal business units, organization of resources and documents to aid in the investigation of cases and provision of research studies that are necessary in filing pleadings to the necessary court or agency. This role is important in ensuring that the corporate attorneys will have focus and ease in the conduct of their legal works.

THE IDEAL TALENT PROFILE

The ideal candidate is one who has excellent communication skills and is customer-centric in gathering information and providing feedback to concerned department or employee whether orally or in written form. The candidate must have strong research skills to assist the corporate attorneys in drafting effective pleadings. He/she is highly organized and systematic in the filing of pertinent documents to make the processes efficient. In so doing, he/she must be able to perform in a fast-paced and pressured environment while maintaining the confidentiality of the information that passes through him/her.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Arranges schedules of appointments and meetings of the Heads of Regulatory Affairs, and makes the necessary logistical arrangements for such appointments and/or meetings, as the case may be, and as may be necessary
  2. Records all incoming and outgoing documents, and responds to routine correspondences
  3. Acts as liaison among various internal divisions/departments as well as with outside agencies
  4. Coordinates with the concerned divisions or departments, with respect to complaints, queries and requests, which the Legal and Regulatory Affairs (LRA) may receive from third parties, and ensures that all communications are timely addressed
  5. Prepares, consolidates, and submits all monthly reports to concerned offices
  6. Maintains a systematic file of all documents, organizes and tracks all case files, organizes exhibits, files and all other supporting documents, coordinates trial set-up and logistics, and assists in the investigation of cases, locating witnesses, obtaining affidavits and organizing depositions
  7. Works with corporate attorneys in preparing and filing pleadings and other documents with the proper court, tribunal, agency or body
  8. Assists the Heads of Regulatory Affairs in preparing reports and other presentation materials
  9. Performs other related tasks as may be assigned

QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS

MINIMUM EDUCATION
Graduate of any four (4) year course preferably in legal management or social science

WORK EXPERIENCE
With at least one (1) to three (3) years of related work experience
