Maynilad’s desludging program prevents the clogging of residential plumbing systems while minimizing the discharge of pollutants into the environment.

Customers are strongly encouraged to avail of this program as desludging also limits the spread of diseases and the emission of foul odor. Those who avail of the service will also have their accounts recorded in Maynilad’s Sanitation Information System (SIS), assuring them of regular cleaning/desludging services.

Mechanics of the Desludging Program
The Maynilad Sanitation Department provides septic tank cleaning services in unsewered areas within the West Concession. The service is offered on a five-to-seven-year desludging cycle, in coordination with Maynilad’s Business Areas and the local government units.

The requirements for the service are as follows:
1. Residential/semi-business customers must have purely domestic waste
2. Updated water bill payment
3. Septic tank must have an access manhole that is at least one square foot
4. Septic tank should be in good structural condition
5. Septic tank desludging will be done once within a cycle of five to seven years
