Maynilad Water reduces charges for first 10 cu.m. water consumption of semi-business customers
SEMI-BUSINESS customers of Maynilad Water will be charged less for their monthly water consumption with the introduction of a policy that bills them residential rates for the first 10 cubic meters of water consumed.
Customers whose accounts fall under the Semi-Business rate are those engaged in non-domestic or economic activities, such as sari-sari stores, repair shops and small cottage industries.
Formulated to set reasonable water charges to Maynilad customers, the new policy states that “ The first ten (10) cubic meters consumption in a given billing period of all Semi-Business (Residential B) customers shall be billed at Residential rate. Any consumption in excess of 10 cu.m. shall be charged and billed at the Semi-Business (Residential B) rate.”
The policy covers all regular water service connections classified under the Semi-Business rate. However, accounts classified under the bulk selling scheme—i.e., water sold to subdivisions and high-rise buildings using semi-business rate—shall not be covered by the policy.
